We Commemorated Atatürk on the 79th Anniversary of His Death

The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated with great sorrow and longing by Modafen students and teachers on the 79th anniversary of his death.

The ceremony, held at 09.05 o’clock in the garden of our school, started with a two-minute silence and the Turkish National Anthem in memory of Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his gun friends.

The ceremony held in the garden ended with the students leaving their flowers in the bosom of Ataturk. After the ceremony in the garden, the ceremony held in the conference hall for primary, middle, and high school students started with the speech of our science teacher Kamil Güner:  “Science and Rationalism”. Speaking about the importance that Ataturk gave to understanding, realism and freedom of thought, our teacher stated that a country can only rise in the light of science and that science is a logical way of thinking based on the results of rationalism, universality, and observation.

Immediately afterwards, the essay called “Işığımız Atatürk” written by our 7B student Lara Begüm Yener, which won the essay competition organized by Turkish-Literature Department, was read. The video show” Atatürk: From Yesterday to Now” excited the audience, and the drama prepared by our 3rd graders was amazing. Our ceremony continued with the “Atatürk Oratorio” prepared by our high school and middle school students, and was followed by a poetry recital and dance show prepared by our 4th grade students. Our ceremony ended with the choir and their “Atatürk in the Songs” program.
