The Turkish Republic, which is the biggest present and the most valuable treasure that our great leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, gave to the Turkish people is now 91 years old. Since the declaration of the Republic, which will be preserved and protected forever, we feel the excitement in our hearts every 29th of October. We celebrated the 91st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey this year.
The 29th of October Republic Day ceremony started with a minute of silence and singing of our National Anthem. Sema Savkan Esen, The Head of Turkish Language Department, made the opening speech. Our primary students recited republic poems. Our primary school teachers Mesut Özbudak and Hilal Peker made speeches about the importance of this day. Our 7th grade students Alp Tulga and Erim Özgür recited “Mustafa Kemal’in Kağnısı” poem. The choir sang republic songs and cheered the audience.
During the week, the students made wonderful art about The Republic. Afterwards, the students who had won the “Republic and Me” composition competition received their awards and the ceremony came to an end.
