Turkish Republic, which is the biggest present and the most valuable treasure that our great leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, gave to the Turkish people is now 90 years old. Since the declaration of the Republic, which will be preserved and protected forever, we feel the excitement in our hearts every 29th of October. We celebrated the 90th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey this year.
The 29th of October Republic Day ceremony started with a minute of silence and singing of our National Anthem. Sema Savkan Esen, The Head of Turkish Language Department, made the opening speech. After the opening speech, our School Principal, Mehmet Durak, made a speech about republic and village institutes. Our entrepreneurialism teacher, Selda Terek, spoke about the importance of republic.
After the speeches, our students took the stage. Merve Naz Sadıkoğlu, Selin Ünsel, Cem Ufuk Tuncer, and Cem Yiğit Kılıç cited “My Republic Day” poem. Theatre Club students performed the Declaration of Turkish Republic. Our primary students read republic poems. The 29th October celebrations came to an end with songs which were sung enthusiastically by the students and the audience.
