It has been 76 years since the founder of our Republic, our leader Atatürk, passed away on 10th of November 1938 at 09.05. After the sirens had gone off, the flags had been lowered to half-mast, and the minute of silence had passed, the ceremony began. With gratitude and longing, we sang the national anthem.
Ali Fırat Bülgin, from 8th grade, recited the moving poem “Mustafa Kemal’ler Ölmez”. Then, our 4th grade students shouted out “Atatürk’ler Ölmez” and our drama club students acted out Atatürk’s memories. Our secondary school students read the poem called “Atatürk Gülümsedi Öğretmenim”.
Our high school students read out what the international press wrote on Atatürk’s death in English, German, French, Spanish and Russian.
Having watched an episode from the Sarı Zeybek documentary where Atatürk danced “zeybek” during a ball he attended, our Sports Coordinator Osman Ateş MD danced “zeybek”.
Then we watched a documentary where Atatürk’s last 5 minutes on this world were shown.
Our leader has enlightened our way with his nobility, elegance and wisdom.
Our ceremony came to an end after our choir had sang “Ata’m Marşı”, “Mayadağ”, “Emanetine Sahibim Ata’m” and “Dersimiz Atatürk” songs with the lead of our Music teachers Elvan Onay and Ezgi Türdü.
