Our schools Turkish Language and Literature teachers, in cooperation with our Arts Department, organised the “Modafen Literature Week” on 20-24 February.

During the week, activities suitable for each grade were performed. Our Art Teachers added colour with their “Flying Books Project”, prepared by the Primary School. Our children became the graphical designers of their favourite books by recreating their covers.

The opening was performed by Doç. Dr. Necdet Neydim, who not only translates poems and stories, but also does institutional work relating to children’s literature. On Monday 20 February, Doç. Dr. Necdet Neydim queried the relationship between literature and reality with the help of the stories’ subtext. His ground-breaking approach put world tales in a different perspective.

Then, within the “Respect to Artists” activity, our Turkish Language and Literature Teachers, together with the Arts Department and students, presented and paid homage to the following artists: Tuğçe Aydın Kongur and Rahime İren Keskin to “Master Novelist”, Reşat Nuri Güntekin; İlknur Aydemir to Mizahımızın’s great, Nasreddin Hoca; Tuncer Türk and Ayça Tunçel Eken to The “Captain” of our poetry, Attila İlhan.
