Our karate students received their new belts during the Karate Belt Ceremony which was held in our sports hall. The ceremony started with a speech by Osman Ateş, our Sports Department Coordinator and Karate Club founder. During the ceremony 135 young karate students received their belts from their teachers.
The belt colours, which rank from white to black (white, yellow, red, green, blue, brown, black), are determined by exams put forward by The Turkish Karate Federation every four months. Those who pass the exams are entitled to wear the belt for the next level.
Our karate students took the exams held by the Turkish Karate Federation. The students successfully performed all the “kata” and basic techniques which were required depending on their belt colours. With this success, the students moved closer to their black belt.
