Modafen which organized Modafen Art Week between 10^th -15^th April with the motto “Each child is an artist, each artist is a child” brought many invaluable artists and Modafen students together and the dream of understanding, explaining and living the art came true.

As Modafen family, we started celebrating the World Art Week through the celebration of Leonardo da Vinci’s, the Renaisaance genius, birthday on 15^th of April. On the first day of the Art Week we welcomed the Cartoon, Storyboard and Animation artist Şafak Tavul. Tavul shared information with our 5^th grade students and created Storyboard and Animation work with them. Within the same day, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Saim Tekcan and his daughters Eda Tekcan and Elvan Tekcan were our guest at Modafen. During the interview, Tekcan family also talked about the IMOGA Graphic Arts Museum which had been built by them. The interview was in the form of question- answer and it was basically about art. On the 11^th of April, our guest was Prof. Dr. Nazan Erkmen. The artist enlightened our students talking about Atatürk, his ideas about art and the effects of these ideas on the development of Turkish art. The second speaker of the day was Prof. Ali CANDAŞ and he held a workshop and had an interview with the 2^nd grade students. . The artist who started his speech saying “Children are the greatest artists ever” went on the meeting in question answer form. On the 12^th of April, Wednesday our guest artist was Phd. Teymur Rzayev. Rzayev talked about his art, the benefit of art and the relationship between art and nature. He helped our student understand the power of the nature whileconveying them the message that “the beauty is in the natural”. He also lead them to draw their own heroes without having any aesthetical concerns and he made them make comments on their own drawings. Another artist we welcomed on the 12^th of April, Wednesday was the famous sculptor Hale Ürkmezgil. Ürkmezgil had an interview with our 6^th grade students and she held a workshop with them. The artist who underlined the importance of the nature several times introduced our students with the material used for sculpture and made them create a bird statue representing “freedom”. Marmara University Faculty of Visual Arts Ceramics and Glass Department students Pınar Aksoy and Serkan Erel were also our guests. They gave our students the chance of learning about the lathe technique . Within the framework of Modafen Art Week our last guest was Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu. Ekşioğlu talked about her life, achievements and work with the 3^rd graders.

The joy and excitement of our students during the Art Week when many important guests visited our school ,was worth to see.
