We had the Çanakkale Victory and Martyr’s Commemoration Ceremony on 16th March at the conference hall of our school. The saddest story ever lived in history, Çannakkale victory and the martyrs were commemorated with great respect.
First, a short informative video about Çanakkale Victory was watched. Then in order to explain the importance and meaning of the day, our History teacher Kadir Can Yetimoğlu and Social Sciences teacher Yalçın Coşkun delivered their speeches. After the poem “Bir Yolcuya”, recited by our 7th grade student Defne Özcan, our students played the drama they had prepared for the day. These poems and performances once again proved the importance of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s following quote: “Çanakkale Victory is to be admired since it shows the Turkish soldiers’ spiritual powers. Be sure that this spiritual power is what helps our soldiers win the victory”. The chants and songs on the Çanakkale Victory sang by our school chorus enhanced the joy of the day.
As Modafen Family, we commemorate the martyrs who protected the interest of their countries before anything else with respect and gratitude on the 103rd anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.
