The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated with great sorrow and longing by Modafen students and teachers on the 80th anniversary of his death.
The ceremony, held at 09.05a.m on the 10th November, in the conference hall of our school, started with a two-minutes silence and ended with the Turkish National Anthem in memory of Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow soldiers.
The speech made by our school Social Studies teacher Yalçın Coşkun increased the sorrow of the participants while the poem recited by our Turkish teacher Özge Aydoğan made them feel the longing for Atatürk more deeply. Then a 20-minute video on Atatürk’s life and how his body was carried to Anıtkabir was shown. While the ceremony was going on in the conference hall and after a two-minute silence in memory of Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow soldiers, “ Swimming Races in Memory of Atatürk” were held in our pool.
On Monday 12th November, within the framework of Atatürk Commemoration Week, another ceremony was held with the participation of all our teachers and students. The ceremony, starting at 09.05 a.m, was held in the garden of our school and began with a two-minute silence and The Turkish National Anthem. Our Maths teacher Zafer Taboğlu delivered a speech on the importance and the meaning of the day. “The Atatürk Oratorio” prepared by our high school students and teachers drew great attention.
