Modafen organized a visit to “Istanbul Archaeology Museum” to learn more about the 5^th grade’s Social Studies 2^nd Unit Chapter “Culture and Heritage” with the learning outcome “The student becomes aware of the contributions of the ancient civilizations to the humanity through concrete remnants”

All 5^th grade students attended the trip named “Meeting of the Civilizations”. Our students formed groups in the museum and each group observed different objects assigned to them. Later they made “sketches” in the museum yard. The students who finished their work in the museum sang songs they had prepared for this occasion, in the museum yard. After the songs, they also performed short dramas that were inspired by the objects they saw. The public’s attention was drawn to our students when they became ‘life imitating art’, as they remained still and imitated the objects that they studied. Finally each group prepared their own “Information Newspaper”

Our students also wrote their emotions about activity in their Turkish and English lessons. Therefore a multidisciplinary work was achieved. We congratulate our students for this activity and wish them continued success in their academic life.
