On Friday 6th April, our 5th grade students had the chance of getting to know the culture of the 2nd Foreign Language they had chosen, through a traditional breakfast or lunch.
Our students learnt the culture of the language they had chosen directly by experiencing it. The students who had chosen German were at breakfast at Backhaus in Nişantaşı and ate “Brezer” and “Berliner”. The breakfast was quite satisfying for our students who spoke German during the trip and so practiced their language. Those who had chosen French were at Le Pain Quotidien at Buyaka AVM. They had the chance of tasting French food there and to practice the French names of the food they ate. For Spanish, our students were at Suadiye Ranchero Restaurant and they tasted the menu prepared for them. They also chatted on food culture and practiced their Spanish during lunch. Those who study Russian cooked Russian food at home and had breakfast in the school garden. Then they talked about the recipes of the food they had cooked and so practiced their Russian.
At the end of the day, our students came back home satisfied and very happy, having learnt a lot about the culture the languages they had chosen.
