May 19, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day was celebrated with sublime passion and jubilation.
The program set out with a moment of silence in remembrance of Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his Fellow Fighters, and the Turkish National Anthem. Championship achievements of our students in relevant sports branches were applauded in high spirits. Şamil Yarar, Physical Education Teacher addressed the quote “All my hope is the youth” by Atatürk and delivered a speech about the meaning and importance of the date. Yarar also emphasized the passion felt towards Atatürk. Following the speech, winner of Essay and Poetry Contest organized by the Turkish Language and Literature branch for the 100-year anniversary, Zeynep Gülerer shared his article with all her friends. After the speech, all the students accompanied the marches performed by the choir. The enthusiasm and excitement of the celebration multiplied with the orchestra formed by our teachers.
Finally, the human tower display performed by our high school students won recognition of the audience as they unfurled the Turkish flag. This brought the excitement and emotion of the
day to the top.
Our students took the road bearing in mind Atatürk’s saying, “We are going to leave everything to the hands of the youth. They are the future, and the lights adorned with flowers. All my hope is the youth” and made each of us proud once again with their faith in the Republic and Atatürk. As Modafen Family we mark May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day and intend to stay on the course of Republic and Atatürk.
