A Nostalgic Teachers’ Day Celebration at Modafen

As Modafen Schools, since we strongly believe that the sense of being a family is one of the most important qualities of a pioneer school, we continue to enhance the awareness about the importance of being a “family”. Together with our teachers, who have devoted themselves to raise enlightened generations, we celebrated this year’s Teachers’ Day in a “nostalgic” way.

At the beginning of the day, our students gave their greatest presents to our teachers: their love and gratitude. By the end of the day, the school had turned into an ocean of flowers and love.

Our students had prepared an art exhibition with their art teachers as they displayed the portraits of their teachers on the school walls. Through their work, we had the joy of seeing our teachers from the eyes of our students.

Towards the evening, we started to see the results of the hard and secret job conducted by our Brand Communication Department, who had decided to organize a “Nostalgic Teachers’ Day” for this year.

The celebrations commenced at the Modafen Café, which had been decorated with lace tissues and old radios. The teachers dressed up in clothes reflecting the 80s’ and 90s’ spirit. “Back to the Future” scenes were displayed on the screens and the food was like the food for the “golden” days of our mothers. The surprise presents were also amazing.

We had emotional moments while listening to our School Principal Mehmet Durak’s speech on the history of Teachers’ Day. Mr Durak also talked about the Köy Enstitüleri” (Village Institutes). He pointed out that these institutions were the pride of our Republic and he talked about the reasons behind their closing.

The day continued with drama and music performances from our teachers and we ended up the day with great joy.
